Violinist
Recognized for his warm tone and remarkable virtuosity, Spanish violinist Pablo Rapado has earned a reputation as one of the most accomplished and refined performers of his generation.
He began studying the violin at the age of six, showing signs of exceptional talent early on. His career progressed rapidly, earning First Prize at the Conservatoire National de Musique d’Aulnay-Sous-Bois, graduating Cum Laude from Hochschule Maastricht, and completing the Artist Diploma at the Long Island Conservatory in New York. There, he studied under renowned violinist Albert Markov, a leading figure of Yuri Yankelevitch’s Soviet school and a Queen Elisabeth Competition laureate.
A two-time laureate of the Sarasate Competition, in 2004 Pablo performed as a soloist under Arturo Tamayo at the Berlin Konzerthaus. In 2013, at the age of 29, he was appointed Associate Concertmaster of the Cologne Radio Orchestra (Germany), collaborating with conductors such as Adam Fischer, Zubin Mehta, Zoltan Kocsis, Dmitri Kitajenko, Arturo Tamayo, Jesús López Cobos, Omer Meir, and Peter Csaba.
From 2013 to 2015, he was a regular member of the prestigious ensemble I Palpiti, composed of international first-prize winners, performing at Radio City Hall and Walt Disney Hall in Los Angeles. Other recitals in America include performances at Merkin Concert Hall, Bargemusic Hall, and WMP Concert Hall in New York, as well as at the Kimmel Center in Philadelphia, where he played a 1684 Antonio Stradivarius generously loaned by New York entrepreneur Emmanuel Gradoux-Matt.
As a soloist and orchestral musician, Pablo Rapado has collaborated with numerous ensembles, including Sinfonieorchester Wuppertal, Düsseldorfer Symphoniker, and Philharmonie Südwestfalen (Germany), as well as the Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra and Qatar Philharmonic Orchestra, where he earned his position through a highly competitive audition among more than 300 candidates.
